FIFTH AND SIXTH CLASS, April 16 and April 23

In these two classes, artists worked from photos of gardens to create panoramic views.

The three paintings below show views of Kathleen's garden.  In each one, the view gets closer to the wall with the art work.  It is like walking in the garden.

SECOND CLASS, March 19, 2015

For this class, students followed step by step to paint the ocean, but there was much variety among the paintings.  Some turned out looking like sunsets, or sunrises, or moonlight.  The lesson was to practice aerial perspective.

FOURTH CLASS, April 9, 2015

This week students transformed black and white postcards of California missions to Faux-style paintings.  They used imaginative color, mostly unmixed, going directly from the palette to the paper.
They used large brushes, broad brushstrokes and pointillist dabs.
