In this first class, students followed the teacher in an exercise of painting a pine branch in the style of Asian brush painting.  They went on to paint pine trees from black and white photos. These paintings show a variety of textures and tones, very successful for a first class

PAINTING LIKE PIERRE BONNARD, April 7, 2016

Students chose an oil painting by Pierre Bonnard to recreate in watercolor.  Each student found a different element of his style to emphasize: bright color, light in the corner of a room, light in a landscape, or light on skin.
